Language Notes The Princess de Cleves, the first great short novel in the French language, was published anonymously in 1678, although 'advance publicity' has made it clear that the author was Madame de Lafayette (with the probable assistance of La Rochefoucauld and others). The book caused a sensation then, and is now considered one of the French classicsThe town is in an uproar due to its proximity to Kansas. The pages are not perforated, and do not come out easily (a plus for binding, a downfall for anyone who wants to color to the edges).The pictures are really nice, I just don't think this is practical for coloring in, for the average coloring enthusiast. Kotler's book should be required reading for any one considering cosmetic surgery. That's pretty damn good odds if you ask me!Well worth your money and time.. Not a lot of press for trying to find out a lot about the man.Ann Wroe has not let this stop her. I enjoyed these two River of Time installments. She would recount, "He told me how embarrassed he was at the time because he was sure that no matter how much he bathed, he must carry with him the smell of the manure which permeated his clothes from working around livestock."And as a young man Wood wouldn't have been caught dead in overalls -- he was, in fact, something of a dandy, as photographs in this copiously illustrated volume from Wood's "bohemian," European period clearly show. It lived up to its title.
