We have read this book over and over and over, and it's still in great shape---a good investment!. My stepdad is sometimes hard to please and he's generally not a big book reader. You get what you pay for. Scott would ultimately choose Pershing to lead World War I and he developed the basics behind the selective service system. It is evident in Wood's work for those who wish to see it, and Evans is a reliable guide.In the book's epilogue, Evans pays tribute to Paul Rinard, Wood's last secretary, who entered politics after serving in the navy in World War II.
